First Appointment Expectations

A visit to the dentist can be anxiety-inducing for anyone, but it can be especially nerve-wracking if it’s your first visit in a while. Here, we’ve put together a few things you can expect when you come to see us for your first visit at Elwood Avenue Dental so you can rest a little easier before your first appointment.

Let’s Get Acquainted

Your first appointment is a chance for our team to get to know you and assess your dental history. However, this is also your chance to get to know our dental team! While we spend time getting acquainted, we encourage you to take this opportunity to ask questions you may have, to address any concerns that may be on your mind, and of course, to share with us any information you think may be important for us to know. This way we will be able to provide you with the best dental care possible.

It’s important to know that part of being able to provide you with safe and personalized care includes having a full review of your medical history. Both medical conditions and medications you may be taking can influence the care we provide. Because of this, before we start any treatment, we will ask you to provide us with information about medications you are taking including any vitamins or supplements, along with information regarding dosage amounts.

During your exam, you will receive a full set of x-rays, a full oral exam that will look at all of your teeth as well as the entirety of your mouth, gums and your jaw, and a non-invasive oral cancer screening.

You Are Receiving The Best In Care

Once your entire exam has been completed, Dr. Salayta will have a conversation with you about what he’s found. Together, you can come up with a treatment plan that will address any needs you may have. While devising this plan, you’ll be able to prioritize your treatments according to your needs, making it as affordable as is necessary and still giving you the smile you deserve.

So, when you’re ready for your dental appointment, come on in. You’re in terrific hands! Contact Elwood Avenue Dental today to schedule your next dental appointment.
